People seek chiropractic care for all sorts of problems and with a variety of health goals.  At Moreton Bay Chiropractic we will provide you with as much information as we can to assist you to make informed choices about how you use chiropractic care to achieve your desired health outcome.

After assessing the findings of all the tests performed at your initial consultation, and reviewing your x-rays if taken, the chiropractor will discuss with you the different options available to manage your presenting concerns.

How you choose to use and benefit from chiropractic care is always up to you.

INITIAL/RELIEF CARE

Most of our patients come to our office with some sort of neck pain, back pain, sciatica, shoulder pain, headaches or other musculoskeletal symptoms.   Others present to our office with more organ related issues such as indigestion, hayfever, sinus, bedwetting, “growing pains” and many more. During your initial care, the primary focus is to improve the way your spine is functioning to restore brain body communication to enable you to begin healing.  When your spine and nervous system start to work better, this encourages symptoms to subside.   As your spine may have been in a state of dysfunction for a long time, much longer than you have had your symptoms, your chiropractic adjustments need to retrain ligaments and muscles supporting your spine.  Your spine has adopted some bad habits and we need to teach it better new habits.  Consequently, during this part of chiropractic care your visits may be frequent.

STABILISATION/CORRECTIVE CARE

Once your symptoms have lessened, we will reassess your case and ensure that you are happy with your progress.   By now, your spine and nervous system will be functioning better, so your body will be working better too.  Many patients now report improvement in other aspects of their health such as more energy and better sleep.  The objective during this part of your care is to stabilise spinal function and prevent a return to your body’s old habits.  Rather than wait for a reoccurrence of your symptoms, it makes sense to build on all the time and effort that you have invested in restoring your spinal health.   Just like getting fit or losing weight, if you return to your old habits, the gains that you have made may be lost.  Visit frequency during your stabilisation care is gradually decreased.  Guidance for suitable exercise and self-help will be also offered.

PREVENTION/WELLNESS CARE

By this stage of your care, your body should be functioning closer to its optimum, and now is the time to capitalise on this and use your chiropractic adjustments to improve your overall wellbeing.  Like eating healthy food and taking regular exercise, chiropractic can add to a pro-active approach to your health by ensuring that your spine and nervous system continue to function at their peak.  Regular preventative chiropractic adjustments give your body the best chance to stay well and heal well.  We are bombarded daily with physical, mental, emotional, and chemical stressors which can all contribute to spinal dysfunction.  Preventative chiropractic is an effective health strategy to minimise and manage minor issues before they become major problems.  Remember it is always easier to stay well than it is to get well.
